The site of the so-called ‘Baths of Vespasian’ lies along the Via Salaria, a few kilometres to the east of Rieti in the heat of the Sabina (Lazio). Since 2020 the BSR has assisted research at the site by Saint Mary’s University Halifax and McMaster University through a programme of geophysical prospection. Large areas have been investigated through magnetometry which has revealed the extent of the terraced site that opened on to the consular road. The collaboration continues with further surveys along the road and at the nearby site of the ‘Villa di Tito’.
