Danny Rolph

Born in London in 1967, Danny Rolph graduated from his BA (Hons) Fine Art at the Winchester School of Art in 1991 and his MA Painting at the Royal College of Art in 1993. He has since gained international acclaim, exhibiting all over the world including many solo exhibitions at 532galleryThomas Jaeckel (NYC), Aeroplastics Gallery (Antwerp), AR/Contemporary (Milan), Barbara Davis Gallery (Houston), Hales Gallery (London) as well as group exhibitions at Royal Academy of Art, Royal Hibernian gallery (Dublin), Koraalberg gallery (Antwerp) and many more. The artist has paralleled his studio practice with teaching in many university and post-graduate institutions including Bucks New University, where he is visiting Professor in Fine Art, the Royal Academy Schools and the Royal College of Art. He’s also been external assessor at Bath Spa Academy and UEL. 

Over the years Rolph has also been selected for numerous awards, including Mark Rothko Residency in 2022, London Arts Visual Arts Award in 2001, Delfina Trust Award in 1994-1996. The artist was Rome Scholar at the British School at Rome in 1998.

Rolph’s works feature in major collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Tate Gallery (London),National gallery of Iceland. He is currently represented by 532galleryThomas Jaeckel (NYC), Barbara Davis Gallery (Houston) and Aeroplastics (Brussels) .
