Verve, the latest work by one of the UK’s most celebrated contemporary artists, Bridget Riley, a painted ceiling for the British School at Rome (BSR), can now be visited!

Bridget Riley has created many murals and wall paintings but this is her first ceiling painting. The large-scale work has been installed in the foyer of the BSR, covering four barrel vaults of the ceiling and using her ‘Egyptian palette’.

Verve can now be visited once a month by appointment. The work will be shown during a tour of the premises of the British School at Rome, where it will also be possible to learn about the history of this institution. It will also be possible to view Verve during the weekly events organised by the BSR.

Please note that the tour is free of charge; however, as a charity, the BSR is reliant on the generosity of its donors to maintain this highly valued place and all its activities. Please consider donating to the BSR when you reserve your visit. Suggested donation is 10 EUR per person.

You can donate through this link: https://bsr.ac.uk/registration-form-2/?d=200

This event will be in English.
