Bijoy Ramachandran is an architect and urban designer based in Bangalore. He is currently a partner at Hundredhands, a nationally recognised studio he founded in 2003 with Sunitha Kondur.
Bijoy has a BA in Architecture from BMS College of Architecture and a MA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. He has also attended the Glenn Murcutt Masterclass. Bijoy has been a panellist at the annual all-India undergraduate thesis review, the Kurula Varkey Forum, at CEPT, Ahmedabad, and is currently the Design Chair in the Department of Architecture, BMS College of Architecture, Bangalore. He also serves on the Board of Reviewers of SEED, Kochi and the Board of Studies of the Balwant Sheth School of Architecture, Mumbai.
In addition to his architectural practice, he has also made three documentary films, ‘Architecture & the City: A Bangalore Perspective’ (2005), on professional practice in the city; ‘Doshi’ (2008) and ‘Doshi: The Second Chapter’ (2019) on the Indian architect B.V. Doshi, both directed by Premjit Ramachandran. These films have been screened nationally and internationally.
