Rebecca Scott Rome Residency

The BSR is delighted to offer the Rebecca Scott Rome Residency, a unique opportunity for a studio-based artist living and working in North West England to spend three months in Rome.

This residency includes private studio accommodation, shared  meals at our communal table, and dedicated support from BSR staff, enabling the selected artist to fully immerse themselves in their creative practice—free from everyday pressures.

Residents become part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment of artists, architects, and researchers, with access to an extraordinary range of resources—from Rome’s rich artistic heritage to the BSR’s specialist library and gallery visit programme. We are proud to support artistic talent from North West England through this exceptional residency.

Eligibility: Applicants must be studio-based artists living in Cumbria, Cheshire, Liverpool City Region, Greater Manchester, or Lancashire and at least two years out of art school/university education (BA, MA/MFA, or PhD or equivalent).

Application Deadline: 9 January 2026

Applications open each September. Click here to learn more and apply.
