Helpmann Academy Residency

The Helpmann Academy, in partnership with the BSR, is proud to offer an extraordinary three-month residency in Rome for an emerging South Australian artist. This fully funded opportunity includes studio space, accommodation, meals, and a stipend covering travel, materials, and freight. It offers a rare chance to live and work in one of the world’s most culturally rich cities.

Artists will immerse themselves in Rome’s vibrant artistic landscape while benefiting from the BSR’s world-renowned research facilities and dynamic international community. Whether exploring the city’s artistic legacy or developing new work in the studio, this residency is a life-changing opportunity to expand your practice and professional network on a global stage.

Eligibility: Open to final-year or honours students and graduates (within seven years of completion) from the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, and Flinders University.

Applications open in July each year. Click here to learn more and apply.
