Arts Council of Wales Visual Arts Rome Residency

This three-month residency is an exceptional opportunity for a studio-based artist living and working in Wales. Delivered in partnership with Arts Council Wales, the residency supports artists at a transformative stage in their development, typically early- to mid-career.

Open to practitioners working across all media—including fine art, performance, digital practice and film—the Fellowship provides time, space and resources to develop new work within the BSR’s interdisciplinary research environment and international creative community. The residency supports ambitious and exploratory practices, encouraging critical engagement, exchange and new perspectives through immersion in Rome’s cultural context.
The BSR and Arts Council Wales are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to widening access to international opportunities. We particularly encourage applications from artists from backgrounds and communities currently under-represented in the visual arts, and welcome conversations about access requirements and caring responsibilities in confidence.

Eligibility: Open to artists resident and actively working in Wales.
