Founded by Gertrude Abbey in 1926, the Incorporated Edwin Austin Abbey Memorial Scholarships (now the Abbey Awards) have supported generations of British and American painters in developing their artistic practices. A formal agreement between the Abbey and the British School at Rome was established in 1937, marking the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship. To mark 100 years since the foundation of the Awards, this exhibition brings together new works on paper by distinguished Abbey Award alumni from the 1950s to the present day, alongside archival material tracing their rich and storied history.

18:00-18:30 | Danny Rolph, Vanessa Jackson and Sacha Craddock in conversation with the artists in the Lecture Theatre
