It is with great sadness that the BSR shares the passing on Friday 21 October of its former Assistant Director Dr Helen Patterson.
Appointed in 1996, for over 10 years Helen with wonderful skill led the BSR’s archaeology programme, directing the Tiber Valley Project and co-directing excavations at Forum Novum- Vescovio. Helen published extensively on the Late Antiquity in central Italy and was a leading authority on medieval ceramics. She will be greatly missed by friends and colleagues at the BSR.
