Silvia Calderoni

Silvia Calderoni

Silvia joined the BSR as Communications Officer in 2023, bringing with her several years of experience in the field. She holds a Master’s degree in Art History and Curating with Queer Studies from the University of Sussex, and has recently completed additional Master’s degrees in Gender Studies and Policies from the University of Roma Tre, as well as in Feminist Urbanism from the University of Florence.

Her work in cultural communications is shaped by a particular focus on gender and accessibility, areas she has continued to develop through specialist professional training, including Accessibilità senza confini (Personeper and the Scuola Nazionale del Patrimonio e delle Attività Culturali, Ministero della Cultura, 2026), which included a study trip to Helsinki to examine case studies on accessibility for people with motor and sensory disabilities, as well as broader cultural accessibility in museums, libraries and other cultural institutions, and Communicating Archaeology (British School at Athens, 2025), focused on communicating archaeology through digital and accessibility-oriented projects for non-specialist audiences.

Silvia is also a co-founder of Parsec, an artists’ space in Bologna dedicated to art research and experimentation, where she works as project manager and curator.
