Nigel Carrington

Sir Nigel Carrington spent the first half of his career in the private sector, first as a corporate lawyer and Managing Partner of a major international law firm and then as Managing Director of the McLaren Group, before studying History of Art at The Courtauld Institute. He was Vice Chancellor of University of the Arts London between 2008-2021 and was a member of the Board of Universities UK between 2015-2020.

Nigel now concentrates his time on non-executive Chair and Trustee roles in the education and arts sectors, including as Chair of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and as Treasurer of The Art Fund. He is an Honorary Fellow of St John’s College, Oxford.
