NEW OPEN CALLS 2026-27 | Architecture Fellowships

The British School at Rome is delighted to invite applications for three prestigious architecture awards, each offering the opportunity to live and work at the BSR in Rome. All applications are due by 15 December, and must be submitted via our SlideRoom portal.

The Giles Worsley Rome Fellowship: Open to architectural historians and architects in an early and/or transformative stage of their careers, whose research in the field of architectural or urban history would benefit from the opportunity to spend three months at the British School at Rome experiencing the reality of buildings and spaces in and around Rome related to their subject of study. The fellowship provides room and board at the BSR for three months, along with a monthly stipend.

The Robert Adam Rome Scholarship in Architecture: Awarded to an architect or scholar to study the tradition and evolution of classical architecture in Rome and Italy, which could include associated urban form. The successful candidate will spend three months at the BSR undertaking a self-directed programme of research. The scholarship offers room and board at the BSR and a monthly stipend.

The Rome Scholarship in Architecture: Awarded to a student with a post-graduate degree in architecture and/or an early career architect who has shown exceptional promise in their student work or early career.  The successful candidate will spend six months at the BSR undertaking a self-directed programme of research. The scholarship offers room and board at the BSR and a monthly stipend.
