We are delighted to announce that Poppy Grima, the first doctoral student to undertake a Collaborative Doctoral Award with the British School at Rome, in partnership with Durham University, has successfully completed her PhD.
Her thesis, titled
‘From the Field to the Collection: Photography, the South Etruria Survey, and the British School at Rome, 1955–1974’,
offers a significant new perspective on the role of photography in archaeological fieldwork and institutional practices at the BSR during a formative period in its history.
We warmly congratulate Dr Grima on this achievement and look forward to seeing how her important research will continue to develop in the field.
