28-30 May 2026
In 1946, the founding statute of the International Union was signed in Rome by several European and American academies and research institutes.
Today, the Union brings together 38 institutions from 20 countries, forming a unique international network in historical and archaeological studies.
It plays a key role in training young scholars and promoting arts and culture.
For its 80th anniversary, the Union aims to highlight its strong ties with Rome and the heritage built over time (archives, collections, buildings, artworks).
The congress seeks to make this heritage more accessible and to present ongoing research projects on the city of Rome.
It will take place on:
– Thursday, May 28 at the Academia Belgica (Via Omero 8)
-Friday, May 29 at the École française de Rome (Piazza Navona 62)
-Saturday, May 30 at the Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Altemps (Via di Sant’Apollinare 8)
